About:

Elwood-John H. Glenn High School students took strides to support Breast Cancer Awareness on October 19 at the annual American Cancer Society Jones Beach Breast Cancer Walk. Members of the National Honor Society, advised by Diane Locascio, and members from the Girls’ Varsity Soccer team, coached by Shannon Colligan, participated in the event to support the fight against breast cancer. Students brought with them a personalized banner they received from the Making Strides Foundation due to the amount of money they raised and donated after the 2013 Breast Cancer Walk. This year, the group of Glenn athletes and honor students walked a total of five miles and raised over $750, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
